Athens—the birthplace of democracy, Socrates, and theater—is over 5000 years old. Greece's ancient capital is also home to our new-look Ermou store, located near Syntagma Square in the core of this sprawling metropolis, and the studio of Savvas Laz, the artist-designer who transformed the space.
The newly named Can Camper Ermou is our second 'House of Camper', following in the footsteps of our first in the Spanish city of Valencia. Laz's conceptual interior revolves around Camper's 'Walk, Don't Run' philosophy and the experience of walking around his home city.
The store design incorporates the graphic and geometric tiles that pave the streets of Athens, referencing the linearity of the Acropolis, the ancient citadel that dominates the skyline. By using urban materials, Laz conceptualizes the streetscapes—past and present—in "an homage to the urban fabric of Athens and the city's iconic 'Kalderimi' tile."
Explore Camper women's and kids' styles on the ground floor, where contrasting concrete paving reflects the city's dynamism. A tiered display table mirrors the seating of a Greek amphitheater. Yellow stacked block tiles wind up the stairs to the mezzanine, featuring Camper men's styles, CAMPERLAB unisex Ready-to-Wear, and footwear on amphitheatrical tiers, another nod to the order of classical architecture.

Savvas Laz
Using sculpture making and design as the main mediums of his work, the Greek artist combines storytelling with historical knowledge and material exploration with impeccable craftsmanship to create unique objects and spaces. Following his master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Savvas assisted Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout at Atelier Van Lieshout in Rotterdam, where he developed the sculptural side of his practice. He lived in Doha and Berlin before moving to Switzerland, where he graduated from ÉCAL with a Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship.
Studio Savvas Laz is located in Neos Kosmos in the center of Athens, a vibrant new hotspot of pleasure and play that provides endless inspiration.
Savvas' work ranges from sculpture to interior architecture and design, creating total spatial experiences such as 'A Pink House' on the island of Kastellorizo for the Italian collector and Patron of the Arts Nicoletta Fiorucci.
